Wally Stevens (GSA CEO) and Michelle Bellinger (Cape Fish CEO) Present the Event’s First Course

Promoting Economic Opportunity for Small-Scale Fisheries

Wally Stevens (Global Seafood Alliance) and Michelle Bellinger (Cape Fish) presented the first course—a tuna tataki zucchini roll—featuring BSP-certified Yellowfin Tuna from South Africa. Through a certification sponsorship program led by GSA and Envisible, Cape Fish became the first BSP-certified provider of tuna and swordfish from the region, leveraging Wholechain’s traceability technology to enhance market credibility and support small-scale fisheries.

The certification model, now expanding to the Mexican Snapper and Grouper Supply Chain Roundtable in Yucatan, Mexico, was highlighted by representatives from Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), and Yucatan government officials.
